Welcome to the WMGA 2017 golf season. Joe Rine has joined the WMGA board this year, along with Bryan Larson, Mark Lovejoy, Mike Heffernan, John Gunning, Mark Jacobs, Kevin Laing and myself.
We have adjusted the tournament schedule to reflect your input from the survey last fall. Thanks to all who responded. This season we have more ABCD events, a bring a friend and a Father’s day event, where you can bring a child, or adopt a partner.
Dan Novarr 4 Ball pairings will be Friday April 28. Get your team signed up, this is always an exciting season long competition. Our Ryder Cup team event with Top Stone will take place in June this year.
This year we have found with increasing costs in Handicap fees and web site expenses going up, it is necessary to increase WMGA dues. This year will be $225, $200 for WH Pass holders. For the first 100 to sign up for WMGA we have a new WMGA bumper sticker, you will all want one for your car.
We are actively developing a new website which will allow us to post tee-times, pairings and results more quickly. We expect that you will also find it easier to navigate. We are working to get it up and running before the season starts, but like any project, takes some time to get it right. The old website will be available until we launch the new one.
Thank you, and please contact me or any board member with any suggestions or comments. We are interested in improving and growing our organization. To that end we are asking all members to recruit a friend. The larger our association, the more we will be able to do with tournament variety, deeper payouts, and develop more friendships.
